Roads & Transportation Authority

For Dubai’s Roads & Transportation Authority, I was asked to redesign their main dashboard for both admins and regular employees and give it a fresh and modern look. It took several iterations to get the final result the team approved aesthetically, but with the right communication and UI/UX principles kept in mind, the team was very pleased.

Despite being asked to do the redesign, the team decided to enable the user to make simple actions such as the “Clock In” and “Clock Out” feature, and more. Of course, empty states were kept in mind and the final designs I made were dynamic and adapted to the navigation bar opening. RTA was a refreshing project to work on and design.

Please note that there are multiple prototypes you can explore in the file, approximately one for each page.

Where it all started

Redesigns for the RTA were needed for their main dashboard. I was asked to keep the look similar to the older design while still modernizing any outdated cards and/or widgets. Brighter colors, rounded corners, and a much better dashboard user experience were the results of my redesign.

My role as the UI/UX designer was to create the UI screens that were both accessible and visually pleasing to the client’s taste.

What I learned

With RTA, the components, cards, and widgets were iterated several times to ensure that they were dynamically adapting to the opening navigation bar with no stopping or jagged animations. This was a learning experience I won’t forget and it’s made me a much better designer and Figma user.
